Bio
Irma Földényi (HU/NL) works across design, research, and education. She is currently pursuing a PhD at Sint Lucas Antwerpen / ARIA, University of Antwerp, with her project Voices of Materials. Her research investigates how materials are sourced and valued and explores her potential role as a jeweller within contemporary anthropocenic material discourses.
Besides her design and research practice Irma has taught at several institutions, including the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam (Linking Bodies – Jewellery Department), Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, Design Academy Eindhoven, and Sint Lucas Antwerpen, where she has taught at Studio Sieraad and currently co-teaches the course Art and Design in the Anthropocene.
She holds an MD in Social Design from Design Academy Eindhoven and an MA in Product Design from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. Before that she studied as a goldsmith in Budapest.
