Guy Woueté (b. 1980, Cameroon; lives and works in Antwerp, Brussels, Douala, and Penja) is a multidisciplinary artist, researcher, and educator at ERG (École de Recherche Graphique, Brussels). His practice investigates artistic creation as an epistemic site and an instituting process, examining the structural residue of coloniality, capitalist extraction, and migration regimes. Moving across installation, video, performance, sculpture, painting, and publishing, his work develops critical dispositifs grounded in collective study and local realities. A graduate of Université Paris 8 and ERG, and a former resident at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam (2009–2010), Woueté has exhibited internationally, including at the 60th Venice Biennale (2024), Gwangju Biennale (2024), Palais de Tokyo (2025), and Lubumbashi Biennale (2019). His work is held in major collections such as M HKA, S.M.A.K., KADIST, FRAC des Pays de la Loire, and the World Bank Art Collection.
